Back in Nairobi. The humidity when stepping off the plane reminds me of why I love returning to anywhere tropical. The rain this morning, the rain to come this afternoon and the rain to hit tonight are reminders that it is now the rainy season. The drought, hopefully, ending. Replaced by rain that invariably brings cholera, blocked storm drains and other natural disasters of small to big proportions.
Over the past three weeks I have hit three continents, Africa, Europe and North America. From UNESCO in Paris, to the Forces Avenir TV interview in Quebec City/Montreal, to London’s Africa Gathering, Brighton and more exciting news which I will announce soon. When I was young I woud return from sleepovers and dread being home – call it the travel blues – it feels the same now, returning to what is more familiar than the rest brings the shadow of doubt. A few days of adjustment and all should be normal again.
